School District No. 60 has been a member of NOIIE, a provincial  inquiry-based network of districts in British Columbia, for several years. Established in 2000, NOIIE was designed to improve the quality and equity of education in BC through inquiry, teamwork across roles, schools and districts, as well as a focus on applying coaching forms of assessment to assist learners to take greater ownership of their learning. The network’s vision is that  EVERY learner crosses the stage with dignity, purpose, and options.

Groups of educators from various schools participate on an annual basis by engaging in the Spiral of Inquiry a teacher-led framework to support a variety of inquiry projects that focus on improving learning for students.

How does it work?

Joining the district NOIIE group provides a process to take on meaningful inquiry within your role as educator with access to inquiry projects & resources  from across the province and from other member countries to support the learning journeyThere are three-four meetings throughout the year that guide this process for participants
