Free Training Course for EAs!<\/p>\n
INCLUSIVE EDUCATION & UNDERSTANDING BEHAVIOUR The Support Staff Education Committee (SSEC) is pleased to provide access to the redeveloped Education Assistant (EA) training course called: Inclusive Education & Understanding Behaviour. This 4.5-hour course is intended to provide professional development opportunities for EAs working to support complex learners. The course provides participants with guided learning activities, knowledge checks, opportunities for reflection and assessment linked to the following:<\/p>\n
\u2022 The evolution of inclusive education.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Impact of inclusive education on students with differing needs and abilities.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Effective practices and characteristics of inclusive education<\/p>\n
\u2022 Diverse needs of students in the classroom \u2022 Guiding Principles<\/p>\n
\u2022 Universal Design for Learning (UDL)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Inclusive Education Plans (IEP)<\/p>\n
\u2022 Approaches, elements, and outcomes of positive behaviour support.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Key components of the functional assessment process.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Instructional practices and intervention strategies to promote behavioural success of students.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Roles and responsibilities of an Education Assistant in the development of positive behaviour support plans.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Implementing visual supports, prompts and intervention plans to support students.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Monitoring and evaluating the types of response interventions.<\/p>\n
\u2022 Effective practices and strategies for managing challenging behaviour.<\/p>\n
