What is the most effective way to teach reading in an early
\nprimary classroom? Are foundational skills sufficient for students
\nto become fully literate? Join BC author and educator Adrienne
\nGear as she explores these questions, discusses the latest trends
\nin reading instruction and shares her thoughts on what a holistic
\nreading program in the early years might look like.<\/p>\n
Adrienne will also share ideas from her new book, Powerful
\nThinking, which explores practical ways of building knowledge
\nand stretching thinking through content-rich interactive read-
\nalouds that help engage young children in the awe and wonder
\nsurrounding them.<\/p>\n
Adrienne will end the day with a practical unit from her book
\nPowerful Understanding which explores practical ways to help
\nchildren develop a deeper understanding of SELF and OTHERS.
