Words are the foundation of reading and writing and therefore an essential component of our instruction. In this session, Karen will discuss how to approach words in the context of oral language, spelling, structural analysis, word walls, morphology, the three tiers of vocabulary, and vocabulary instruction. She will guide participants in planning a weekly schedule for ELA as well as looking at an overall plan for the year. Teachers will walk away from this practical session feeling empowered!

The session is open to teachers in grades 1 through 7.
